Name: Bolt & Lightning
Species: Short-Tailed Hawk Buteo brachyurus
Life History: Bolt came to FKWBC in February of 2015 with a right wing fracture. Our Volunteer Vet pinned the wing but unfortunately it did not heal properly enough to permit perfect flight. Lightning arrived in 2017 also suffering from a right wing fracture caused by a BB or projectile. While his flight is limited, he made fast friends with Bolt and the two now enjoy staring contests with visitors and occasionally talking with their neighbor, Val.
