Species: Barred Owl Strix varia
Life History: Leo came to FKWBC in the spring of 2014 as an adult. He was rescued by a veterinarian on the Tamiami Trail after being hit by a car. While he has since recovered, the collision unfortunately resulted in a left wing fracture that limits Leo's flight capabilities. Due to this permanent injury, he is unable to be released back into the wild. He enjoys clacking his beak at visitors and hooting grumpily when staff present him at programs.
